Beautiful place

The main advantage of this hotel is location. Right on line one on the lakeside. The view from the room (I had a view of the lake) is fantastic. There are plenty of restaurants around. Beautiful promenade. There's free street parking. But to park the car, I had to drive 500 meters. It's the closest I've ever been.

Could be better but an enjoyable stay

Location excellent...very quiet rooms and very convenient for Pallanza facilities and boat station.
Reception greeting and service at the front desk excellent.
Breakfast ok...typical of the area.
Main issue is with the Hotel fabric...it is need of a refurbishment....all starting to look a little dated.
Decent value but it could be so much better with a facelift.

Great location and breakfast!

From the moment we entered the hotel we were greeted with friendly staff who took the time to explain how to get the best from where we were staying. There was a lift to our 3rd floor room and although the basic price was very clean and comfortable with a large ensuite bathroom. Our room was cleaned every day we were there and the bed made. The jewel of the hotel's crown is their breakfast which is superb: salads, meats, eggs, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts and best of all a great selection of pastries, tarts and pancakes. The waiters are attentive and always helpful. The hotel is in a great location, right on the lakeside frontage and is a minute's walk away from the ferries. Perfect! Visit the Borromean islands, Villa Taranto and Laveno for the trip up the mountain.

Not as expected.

We wanted to finish our trip through Italy with a nice and luxurious place, so we booked this 4 star hotel. It turned out to be the worst one we had. You can tell this once was a place filled with luxury, but unfortunately that was something from the past.
The hotel is definitely in need of renovation. The rooms are old and outdated. Not classic in a charming way, but things are just broken down and worn off. The mattress was really sagging what gave us the feeling of rolling out of bed. The minibar isn't being refilled and the bathroom was a bit smudgy.
Don't be fooled by their website. They won't let you choose a scent and you want get a pillow menu by entering the hotel. By addressing the sagging mattress the solution was to turn it around, since there wasn't really a problem according to them.
At the breakfast there was a lot to choose from. Not very fresh and not of a good quality but the variety was really nice. If you order coffee or cappuccino they will make you a really good one. The coffee was for sure the best thing of the hotel!
Also most of the people working at the hotel were really nice and friendly as well. Especially the two men at the breakfast.
The location of the hotel is perfect. We booked a room on the lake side. The view was stunning, this is a great benefit as well.

Hotel great location

4-star hotel with friendly and competent staff. Clean rooms but the one we had very small and bathroom without bath only shower. Very high price in relation to quality. Central location facing the lake. Parking proposed by hotel at 20 euro
