Poor room cleaning, Broken equipment, Conspiracy Newspapers, Friendly Staff
Good: Staff were all SUPER friendly. I loved the breakfast attendant, Loretta. She was older but very spry and quick. The guy who cleaned the lobby was always cleaning it and the floors were always mopped. Malcom and David at the front desk were always helpful. The location was very good, as you were close to the big box chain stores, the highways, and cute local restaurants as well. Parking was easy. Coffee quality for breakfast was good. I had a full-sized fridge in my room (altho I had a better room so I'm not sure that they all had a full-sized fridge). The bed was honestly the best sleep I've had in a hotel. I don't know what balance between firm and soft was but it was amazing.
Bad:
Broken equipment- The front glass sliding doors were broken for at least the last 2 full weeks I was there, so they either stayed open, or they stayed closed and you had to pry them open. The latter only happened on the really cold days because they'd leave them closed for heat loss, but it's not super easy to pry them open, esp if you have items in your hands. The water cooler in the gym was plugged in, attached to a water line, and had a full jug of water, but no water ever came out. The pancake machine was in eternal failure. The first 2 weeks I was there, the belt was broken and they were waiting on a part- the remainder of the time it had other issues. When it worked it was delish. The shower had some sort of heat limiter on it because the 2 sinks in my room had water that got very hot, but the shower would get luke warm at best. The fridge made weird loud clunking sounds randomly throughout the day/night which sometimes kept me awake.
Room cleaning and other issues- The room was clean-ish when I checked in. The bathroom door had some redish striping and dirt on it that was never wiped off the entire 5 weeks I was there. The carpet was frayed. The floors seemed dirty a lot even after they vacuumed. They forgot to clean my room almost regularly. I asked the front desk how often they clean for long-stays and he said something like "every day they make the bed and every 3rd day they change the sheets" or something along those lines. I told him that it had been 8 days (I had no sign on my door) since anyone had even come in the room so I was completely out of soap and toilet paper. It was cleaned that day but it happened AGAIN the next week where it had been 7ish days and no cleaning without me specifically asking. When they would clean, they OFTEN overlooked refilling my K-cups for the room coffee, would forget to refill things that had run out (conditioner, sink soap), and NEVER refilled the little makeup remover sheet.
Breakfast- listen I loved Ms Loretta. She was a fast worker and tried her best but you can not only employ ONE worker for a dining room that has 25ish seats and is frequently very full. The lobby floor cleaner man would work the dining room on the 2 days Ms Loretta had off and the issues were the same, if not worse. Food would run out and people would be rude to the staff, but I honestly didn't think it was their fault with as many people came through there in a short amount of time. My coworker actually got so annoyed at this that he checked out and reserved another hotel for the rest of our business trip but I didn't think it was worth the hassle.
The table by the elevator had a new stack of Epoch Times newspapers every Sunday. The titles seemed pretty radical but I thought maybe that's just how Georgia rolled, thinking it was a local paper. I mentioned it to one of my coworkers in Intelligence and they couldn't believe my hotel had these in print because it is a Chinese Far-Right conspiracy paper that is banned a lot of places. Knowing that, it upset me that staff allowed this, or even worse, placed it there themselves.

Just Don't! Someone is Shady!
My husband and I were attending a concert at Ameris Bank Amphitheater. We only live a little over an hour away, but we thought we would have a few drinks at the concert and shouldn't drive. We chose this hotel due to being able to Uber or Lift to the venue and back.
We were running behind schedule, but we wanted to make sure we put our things in the room before heading out to dinner and the concert. We checked in around 4 pm and the clerk at the front desk was very nice. We went up to our room and put our luggage down. My husband noticed there were hairs in the bathtub and on the toilet, so I called down to the front desk. She offered to change our rooms, so we went back down and got a new room assigned to us. A gentleman got on the elevator with us wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and no shoes. He explained that he was managing several departments including housekeeping and apologized for our inconvenience. We said we understood and thanked him for going with us to inspect our next room. We did a walk through, and our new room was fine. My husband went into the restroom, and I started looking for the remote to the TV. I couldn't find one, but I told my husband it wasn't a big deal. We didn't need to watch TV anyway since we would be at the concert all night. We left and went to dinner. When we returned from dinner, there was a tv remote on our doorknob. I was a little uneasy wondering how they knew we needed a remote. Were there cameras in our room? I assured myself that they had probably just taken it to replace the battery and brought it back. No biggie! We left and went to the concert.
Well, thank God I didn't drink but one beer at the concert because when we returned to the room, things got worse. I started changing into my pajamas and realized there were drops of blood on our floor that were not there before we left to go to the concert. My husband lost his temper at this time and called the front desk and told them there was blood in the *&^* floor. I walked down to the front desk to speak to someone and overheard the new desk clerk telling the "housekeeping manager" in shorts and barefoot still that she wasn't going to be talked to that way. I approached her and apologized for my husband's excitement and explained to her that surely she could understand why he was so upset. The housekeeping manager disappeared. The clerk threatened to call the police because my husband said a curse word even though he never threatened her. I told her that I would be perfectly fine with the police coming to investigate why we had blood in the floor of our room. She basically made out like what we were saying was impossible. She claimed that nobody had access to our room. When everyone knows that housekeeping and other staff has room keys. At this point I just had the heebie jeebies and requested a refund. I drove us home. We didn't get home until 3AM. We are currently awaiting the refund.
I am just dumbfounded by this experience. It really makes me wonder who the shady person was that went into our room while we were away. So far, I haven't noticed anything missing from our belongings. I will be contacting corporate.
