A welcome respite from social media

This lodge is located in the heart of the rain forest and ideal for a birding trip. Our guide had known the people here and in the area for many years but the other guests were treated with the same care that we were. The view from our balcony into the forest canopy gave us some amazing views.
Walking along the road yielded views of birds that were unrivaled.
Our stay here was also a welcome disconnect from US news and social media. The internet connection was iffy at best.
The food was delicious and served with care.

Good accommodation bordering the Sinharaja Forest Reserve

The food served was excellent - hit all the right notes of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Equipped with hot water and air conditioning, rooms are comfortable and provide a restful experience. Proximity to the Kudawa entrance to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve makes it possible to even walk to the entrance dispensing with the need to look for transport

Restful, friendly, delicious food, basic accommodation

As a nature lover and photographer, the location of this hotel is perfect. The staff are all super friendly & helpful, and the food is delicious. It is basic but that adds to its charm. No pool, no WiFi, no TV means that you are forced to relax fully and embrace nature. I would love to return one day.

Simple accommodation near the rainforest

We spent a night here hiking in the rainforest.
The property is about 15 minutes by bus from the entrance to the rainforest. It is extremely simple. Rooms a bit run-down and musty but air-conditioned. The bathroom is very basic, without hot water.
The simplicity of the accommodation is more than offset by the incredible friendliness of the staff. There is an open dining or lounge area. There is a small selection of drinks here. The food is small but fine.
For the hike you can buy linen cuffs here as protection against leeches.
In addition, you have access to the river where you can swim wonderfully.
For one night absolutely sufficient!

Book a hotel outside the entrance of the Rain Forest - it's definitely better. NO CREDIT CARDS! CHARGES IN $

It's surprising that it still hasn't been renovated.
The room was big but very rudimentarily furnished. The bed was good. There's no kettle in the room so you can make tea or Nescafe. The whole place gives a rather run-down impression.
